BRITISH farming was celebrated with plenty of fun and animal magic.

The Wellbeing Farm in the picturesque village of Edgworth opened its gates to the public as part of Open Farm Sunday — the farming industry's national open day.

And despite the great British weather families flocked to the farm to get up and meet its star attractions including the llamas, and the hens.

The day was designed to raise awareness of sustainable farming, for people to find out how the food they eat is produce and meeting the farmers.

There were talks, a chance to see sheepdogs in actions as well as cookery and craft demonstrations.

Visitors could try local produce, enjoy hog roads at the farmers market while children could have fun on the bouncy and have their face painted too.

The national open day is managed by LEAF — Linking Environment and Farming.

More farms will be opening their gates this coming Sunday.
