A 26-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in Hampshire by detectives investigating an armed robbery at a betting shop in Horwich.
He is being brought to Bolton to be questioned about the raid at the Ladbrokes shop in Chorley New Road on Wednesday evening.
Police said a man walked into the shop at 7.15pm and sat down to fill in a betting slip before walking to the counter and producing a gun, terrifying two women cashiers.
He escaped with hundreds of pounds in cash.
Police later released CCTV pictures from the betting shop and they were circulated to all police forces in the country.
The arrest was made in Hampshire yesterday morning.
A police spokesman said: "A man is in custody after being arrested in connection with the robbery and will be questioned when he is brought to Greater Manchester."
