A MAN was stuck in a lift in a block of flats in Bolton for 12 hours.
Police received a call from the man, who is believed to be from Fleetwood, at 6am on Saturday, telling them he was stuck in a lift, but did not know where he was.
After the man made that call, his mobile phone battery went dead.
It took police until 1pm to find the man from the information he had given them.
They eventually found him trapped in a lift at Princess Court, in Princess Street, Bolton.
Police called the fire brigade who freed the man. He had been stuck in the lift since 1am on Saturday.
Crew manager Mark Hoare said: "If the man had been in the lift any longer he could have died. This could have easily ended in tragedy. He was very lucky. "
