A SECOND pub in Churchgate has been given permission for an outdoor seating area as Bolton's "cafe-culture" revolution gathers pace.
The seating area outside The Brass Cat was unanimously approved by Bolton Council's planning and highways committee for a 12-month trial period.
It will provide the pub with a solution to the ban on smoking in enclosed public places which comes into force in July.
The area, which measures two metres by six metres, will be bordered by aluminium barriers.
There will be six tables and chairs, five floodlights, a lantern, heaters and wall-mounted ash bins.
Last month councillors gave The Varsity the go-ahead for a similar seating area in Churchgate.
