THE Bolton News online pothole campaign has really taken off. Readers have logged on and left details of the potholes in roads all over Bolton.
Now the Institute of Advanced Motorists has welcomed our campaign making the point that potholes are potentially dangerous to drivers.
The council has promised to send out engineers to look at the potholes and then repair them. But this begs a rather large question - why does it need a campaign in order to get these holes filled in? A lot of these holes have been there for a long time. Perhaps now we should monitor how long it takes to repair a reported pothole?
