FORMER Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has announced a career change - she is going to be a children's author.
Ginger Spice says she began writing stories when she was pregnant with her daughter, Bluebell Madonna.
The books heroine in a nine-year-old called Ugenia Lavender.
Halliwell cites her literary influences as CS Lewis, Enid Blyton and Oscar Wilde. She will be following in the footsteps of fellow popstar Madonna.
She said: "There is a positive message in there, but it tastes like chocolate not cabbage."
The UN Goodwill Ambassador, who recently announced she was quitting the pop world, was signed up by Macmillan Children's Books after calling the managing director of the publishing house out of the blue.
