TEENAGERS often complain that no-one listens to their views. They cannot say that now after Bolton Council decided to put together a £75,000 proposal for a town centre skate park.
The campaign for such a facility was led by 15-year-old Joe Cowie, who presented the council with a 500-name petition.
The councillors have learned that they need to respond to the needs of the town's teenagers who are, after all, future voters.
Skateboarding is a sport that seems to have revived in recent years and it is good aerobic activity for young people who are often criticised for lounging around in front of computers.
Congratulations to Joe for showing such initiative and to the council for listening.
