ASPIRING performers, from toddlers to grannies, have been queueing up to join Bolton's newest performing arts academy - before it has even opened.

The pulling power of showbiz legend Bobby Ball and West End star Casey-Lee Jolleys has ensured a steady stream of singers, dancers, actors and comedians interested in signing up for the academy, which opens on Monday.

The pair hope to use their expertise to help launch the careers of the stars of tomorrow at The Casey-Lee Jolleys Academy of Dance and Drama, in Hartford Court, Weston Street.

Casey-Lee, known to millions as Fred Elliott's Thai bride, Orchid, in Coronation Street and a championship dancer, will be putting the dance students through their paces, while Bobby teaches comedy.

Casey-Lee, aged 33, originally from Astley Bridge, said: "We've had lots of people in who are keen to sign up for classes and we haven't even opened yet.

"The classes will be open to people of all ages. I don't think age should be a barrier if people want to explore their talents."

"We've had mums wanting to sign up their three-year-olds for ballet lessons and 70-year-old ladies inquiring about singing lessons."

The Academy can be contacted on 01204 398839.
