AT the season's end all of the promotion and relegation issues have been resolved.

Ramsbottom A retain their Premier Division title despite having two outstanding games, their two 6-3 wins against Radcliffe CC who finish in second place, and Tameside, clinched the title for the eighth consecutive season.

At the other end of the table Nomads A finished bottom five points adrift of Burning Desire B. Radcliffe CC veteran Nigel Hallows is the Top Ten winner with 58 wins.

Division One champions are Heaton B who are nine points ahead of Heaton A who have a match still to play. If the A team were to win this 9-0 it would bring them level on points, but the B team having won more matches take the title.

Only one team is promoted from this division, and the B team clinched it by beating Ladybridge A 8-1 with three wins by Steve Barber and Matt Ward, plus two by John Scowcroft. Their other player in the squad who contributed over the season is Ian Craig. Meadowbank and Hilton C are the two teams at the bottom of the table in the relegation slots. Top Ten winner is Paul Ward of Heaton A on 53 wins.

The two promoted teams Hilton D and Little Lever D finished with 125 points on the top of Division Two but, the Hilton team take top spot on the strength of having won two more matches. This week they went down 5-4 to their E team, which included two wins by Alan Tomlinson and Ian Wheeldon, John Brinkworth, Barry Walsh and John Biggins are the other team member who have played their part over the season. Hilton H and Ladybridge C are the two bottom teams. Mark Martin of Little Lever D wins the Top Ten for the second season on 57 wins.

Hilton I win Division Three one point ahead of Heaton F in second place. The Hilton trio of Brian Young, Craig Rushton and Gill Marsden won their last match 9-0 to move ahead of the Heaton team who scored a 6-3 win at Hilton K, with three wins by Mike Dunn, two by Dave Bevitt and one by Mike Croft. Irlam Steel and Ladybridge C finished in the two bottom places, and Dave Bevitt of Heaton F is Top Ten winner with 58 wins.

Division Four Champions are Withins with the Tonge C in second place. Withins unbeaten over the season finished with a 9-0 victory over Lads Club A with trebles from Debbie Wilson, Lloyd Eaton and Ben Dudley. The Tonge team of Steven Hall, Stuart McCaig and Paul Minogue also won their last match against Brass 9-0.
