THE Bolton News' Spot a Pothole campaign is linking up with Granada TV documentary makers who are examining the issue of problem roads.

They are planning a special programme dedicated to poorly-maintained routes across the UK - and want to hear from Bolton residents who are experiencing problems.

The worst roads in the country could feature in a documentary scheduled to be screened later this month on ITV1.

A spokesman for Granada said: "The issue of potholes affects people across the country, especially motorists and motorcyclists, which is why we decided to take a look."

The Bolton News' Spot a Pothole campaign was launched on www.theboltonnews.co.uk last month and has proved to be popular with readers, who have logged on to report problem spots in their area.

Last week we featured some of the worst potholes and road surfaces in the town in The Bolton News.

Bolton Council has special road maintenance teams which assess and carry out repairs on potholes across the town.

Problems can also be reported by calling Access Bolton on 01204 333333.
