A DIAMOND engagement ring worth thousands of pounds was stolen from a Chapeltown house in a burglary.
The yellow gold solitaire diamond ring was bought 22 years ago for £16,500.
The thieves struck at some stage between Monday, July 27 and Thursday, July 30 from a house in High Street.
Police are appealing for help in tracing the item of significant sentimental value.
PC Alison Culshaw of Lancashire Police said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anybody acting suspiciously in the area near to where the burglary took place to contact us with information.”
