A TEENAGER suffered a fractured skull after being beaten up outside a nightclub in Leigh.

The 18-year-old was punched in the side of the head outside Pulp bar in Railway Road.

A man walked up behind him at about 5am on Sunday, August 16 and punched him to the ground.

The attacker ran off and had gone by the time police arrived.

Detectives are treating the assault as a random attack, and do not think the victim and the assailant were known to each other.

The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a fractured skull and a burst ear drum, and he is now recovering at home.

The offender is described as being white, in his early to mid-20s, with short cropped black hair.

PC Adam Jones said: “The victim was left with a fractured skull after the attack, which knocked him to the floor and left him hospitalised.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have mobile phone footage of the attack and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to call police as soon as possible.”
