The Liberal Democrats have been left reeling by the local elections after losing three seats.
The party has seen a spectacular fall from grace since leading Bolton Council in 2005.
It now has just 12 seats at the town hall - compared to 21 just two years ago.
Labour snatched two seats from the Lib Dems, with the Conservative Party taking the third.
