MOUNTAIN Rescue crews and the North West Air Ambulance were deployed when a car and motorbike crashed in Rivington.
Bolton's Mountain Rescue team sent three Landrover ambulances from its Ladybridge Hall base at around 12.30pm yesterday.
However, the incident, on Hall Ball Drive, was not as serious as first thought and the bike rider suffered only a sprained wrist.
On Saturday, Mountain Rescue volunteers had treated two competitors in the Belmont Village Winter Hill Fell Race.
One competitor had twisted an ankle, while another was taken to Chorley Hospital with a badly cut kneecap.
