- -A taxi strike began 8am this morning in Bolton.
- -Scores of drivers flooded the town centre, either parking up in Le Mans Crescent or driving very slowly around the town centre, causing major disruption.
- -There was also disruption right across the borough, with traffic problems in Deane Road, St Helen's Road and Darwen Road
- -Drivers warned of a strike last week. They are furious over what they say are "unfair" rises to license fees, brought in by Bolton Council following a national review of licenses.
- -Protests culminated with hundreds of drivers entering the council's One Stop Shop building, chanting "we won't pay."
