THREE boys have been charged with manslaughter and arson after the death of a man in a warehouse blaze.

The fire destroyed the Klyne and Klyne DIY warehouse in Manchester Road, Walkden, in February last year.

Weeks later, as builders were removing the rubble, they found the remains of a body.

The victim was identified as Henry Earl, who had been sleeping rough and is believed to have sought shelter in the factory's loading bay.

Police believe he was overcome by toxic fumes during the blaze.

He was identified after DNA was obtained from a blood sample.

Three teenagers from Worsley, two aged 14 and one aged 15, were arrested in April last year and released on bail.

They have now been charged and will appear at Salford Youth Court tomorrow.

The blaze broke out on the evening of February 12, 2006, causing a huge amount of damage and the building had to be demolished.

Seven families who lived near the warehouse had to be evacuated from their homes at the height of the blaze.

It is believed it was started in tins of paint stored in the yard.

More than 80 firefighters were needed to bring the 100ft flames under control.
