FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a rubbish fire in a street in Little Hulton.
Crews were called to Spa Crescent at 11am yesterday and while at the scene they were asked to remove a number of potentially volatile gas cylinders from the shed of a homeowner.
They took four acetylene cylinders and three oxygen cylinders away.
Crew commander Richard Mortimer said: "These cylinders have the potential to be a massive unexploded bomb so by removing them safely we have potentially saved a lot of lives and a lot of disruption to the community."
