AS Bolton prepares to welcome a host of new restaurants, we delved into the archives to have a look at popular eateries over the years.
Long before McDonald's moved into Derby Street, who remembers Henrys? Opening to customers in November 1980, it boasted the country's first ever drive-thru restaurant.
The Market Place may soon be home to the likes of Nando's, Prezzo and Gourmet Burger Kitchen but, once upon a time, the Lamplighter Restaurant was a popular dining out option.
From Tognarelli’s ice cream parlour in Market Street to Tiggi’s in Bradshawgate; Mr Bojangles in Mawdsley Street and Munchers in Manor Street, there have been countless dining options over the years.
Which ones have you visited? Is your favourite restaurant featured? Flick through the photographs above to jog your memory and share your dining out memories in the comments section below.

👍🏼
@PaddyMcGuinness @TheBoltonNews Some memories there. Continental was a particular haunt of mine in the late 80's!
