AS Bolton's newest bar prepares to open its doors tonight, we take a look back at night-time hotspots of yesteryear.

From 1920s dancehall, Astoria Palais de Danse, to super club for the millennium Atlantis in Waters Meeting Road, the town has always boasted plenty of places for revellers to let their hair down.

Bradshawgate, in the town centre, has always had its fair share or bars, including Corks Cafe Bar and Chester Moonshines.

Nelson Square remains a focal point for nights out with haunts over the years including Red on the Square.

The latest bar/ club to open there is Vogue, in the former Square Lounge premises.
