POUNDBAKERY has announced the launch of a new left-handed sandwich, which will be on sale in Bolton town centre for the first time today.

The Ham and Cheese salad sandwich is already a firm favourite with customers at Poundbakery so they’ve chosen the filling to be the first of their left-handed range.

The Bolton-based bakers are confident that the left handed version will avoid the embarrassing filling “spills” some customers lefties endure.

Gemma Hall from Bolton’s Market Street Poundbakery said: “As a left handed person myself I’m only too aware of the pitfalls of living in a right-handed world.

“I was delighted to hear that we are bringing a left-handed version of the ham and cheese salad into the shop and I’ve already put it to the test and it’s great.”

Poundbakery’s marketing manager, Keely Palin, said: “The left handed sandwich has already received great feedback.

“We’ve rotated all the ingredients 180 degrees and redistributed the weight to the left hand side so as to avoid any spills.

“The packaging has also been changed to open on the left hand side too. Depending on how well sales are we may look to introduce left-handed doughnuts.”

The left handed sandwich will be available in stores from today, April 1.
