ONE car smashed into a lamppost and a second was left in the middle of the road after they collided on a major Bolton thoroughfare.
The black Vauxhall Corsa and the blue Citroen C3 hit one another at the junction of St Helens Road and Smethurst Lane, Bolton, at 8.50am.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed the Corsa careered into a lamppost after the collision, flattening a concrete bollard and damaging the lighting column so that wires were left exposed.
The Citroen was left marooned in the middle of the junction.
Police temporarily closed the junction to help with the recovery of the vehicles.
Neither driver was injured.
The North West Ambulance Service sent an ambulance to the scene but did not take anyone to hospital.
