FANS of all things vinyl can indulge their love of music as a popular fair takes a second spin in Bolton this weekend.

Stacks of music will be lining the Market Place Shopping Centre for a popular record fair from 10am tomorrow.

The event organised by Premier Record and CD Fairs — a venture by friends Bernard McMylor and Cliff Pemberton — is returning to the town centre after a successful first outing in February.

Boasting vinyls, CDs, DVDs and even sheet music, the fair proved a hit with tuneful Boltonians of all ages.

Mr McMylor said: "We had around 200 to 250 people looking around last time. It was so promising we thought we would book again and give it another go.

"Vinyls are definitely the 'in' thing at the minute. We've been running fairs for so many years so it's great to see a lot of new people coming in as well now.

"Students are really into vinyl now and it's great seeing them coming in and leaving with bags of vinyl.

"Sometimes people are attracted to the art work, other times looking to find albums they had when they were younger. I've seen people spent hundreds on albums sometimes.

"Overall though it's a great day and it's all about sharing a love of music and meeting up with people."

The fair will feature traders both buying and selling records, with music ranging from the modern to the rock n roll of the 1950s.

Premier Record and CD Fairs has been running record fairs around the country for the past 16 years and hopes to make a regular run of events in Bolton.

A date for the next fair in Bolton has already been set for June 25, and if the weekend's event proves as popular as the last organisers hope to return for a further five fairs before the end of the year.
