A LIGHTNING strike blew up a television set at a terraced house.
The flash hit an aerial on the roof of a property in Ainsworth Lane, Tonge Moor, at around 8pm yesterday as thunderclouds rumbled overhead.
Electricity surged down the antenna wire and overloaded and destroyed the screen in a split-second.
No-one was injured in the freak accident but firefighters from Bolton North Fire Station were called out as a precaution to check.
In Morris Green, Sam Thompson snapped these impressive photographs of the lightning.
She was watching the storm out of the window of her Kinver Close home with children Ryan, Harley, Ellie and Chloe.
The 34-year-old said: "It was like four seasons in one day.
"It was sunny in the morning, then cold, then thunder and lightning and snow."
