Bolton-born Lady Showbiz, aka Karen Walters, casts an eye over this week's celebrity news. An entrepreneur, she has worked in entertainment for more than 12 years and is also a freelance radio presenter

Working alongside many celebrities over the years, I’ve seen ego’s bigger than Humpty Dumpty's head - and faces that would be more fitting to Madame Tussauds.

So it was really refreshing to see Jennifer Aniston being open and honest to a teenage girl at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy who asked her: “Do you ever wake up in the morning and not know who you are, feeling so distressed that you cannot go on?”

Jen said: “There are not enough fingers and toes in this entire room to count how many times this has happened to me, we are all human beings at the end of the day, you think I can’t go any farther. Or this is too much, or my heart can’t take it”.

Then she had a little sob. In a world of fake reality thank you for bravely telling it like it often is.

Over the next 12 months I am pledging to raise £250,000 for my three chosen charities – supporting Bolton Hospice, The British Red Cross and The Zak Vali Foundation.

I will be achieving this by completing physical challenges. I commenced training on Tuesday at Big G’s Gym, Edgworth, who are very kindly sponsoring me.

Gordon was fantastic (although I felt like I was dying) and he relly made me feel at ease.

I’ve not been in the gym since having surgery a few years ago – and even then I spent more time in the jacuzzi.

There will be high profile events too.

Elsewhere, having followed in her mother Jerry Hall’s modelling footsteps, Georgia May Jagger has confessed to raiding her mother's jewellery collection in the 80s.

Which reminded me of my youngest daughter raiding mine, wearing my Tiffany bracelet to school AND swimming! Returned in the most horrific state, the chlorine had gripped onto it. Lesson learned, it wasn’t raided again – and a professional clean made it good as new.

This Sunday you can catch me being a ‘Loose Lady’ with Lynne Chick on Radio Deeside 6pm to 8pm where Matt Johnson will be discussing his debut solo single ‘Get Over You’.
