BOLTON'S kettles and ovens are getting warmed up ready for a morning of unfiltered fun.

Macmillan’s flagship fundraiser, World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, takes place on Friday, September 30, and every slice of cake eaten and cup of coffee poured goes towards helping cancer research.

The charity is asking everyone in Bolton to take part, either by hosting a coffee morning or by attending one, for its 26th year

Last year, 4,097 coffee mornings were held in Greater Manchester raising around £988,000 for the charity that provides essential support for people affected by cancer.

Macmillan’s fundraising manager for Greater Manchester, Aggie Sheppard, said: "We want to make sure no one has to face cancer alone but we can't do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us.

"We rely on the generosity of our supporters for more than 99 percent of our income and coffee morning events are a great way to have fun whilst raising vital funds to help people affected by cancer.

"If you can’t do it on September 30 then just pick another day. All that matters is that you get together with friends, colleagues or neighbours over coffee and cake to raise some money to help Macmillan be there for people affected by cancer in Greater Manchester."

Partnering this year's fundraiser, local M&S and Nationwide Building Society employees will be taking part with events in store.

All the money raised will go towards funding the charity's services providing practical, financial, emotional and medical support to people affected by cancer, including Information and Support Centres and welfare rights.
