A BOLTON humanitarian charity boss has been honoured with an international award for his forward-thinking work ethos.

Chairman Imam Qasim Rashid Ahmad is founder of the visionary Al-Khair Foundation which runs humanitarian projects around the world and in the UK.

He was recognised for excellence and won both the Best Employer and Global Sustainability Awards at a prestigious event in Dubai.

The charity, which is based in Croydon and has offices across the UK, beat off competition from private sector businesses to be recognised for its invaluable contribution in creating a culture of innovation at work, developing and nurturing future leaders and being a social and equal opportunity employer.

Speaking at the event, Imam Qasim emphasised that the concept of humanity is vital in any humanitarian work.

He said: “This applies to the projects that a humanitarian organisation undertakes as well as the environment that it nurtures in its offices for its employees.

“The notion of humanity needs to become inseparable from all our actions.”

The two awards won by Imam Qasim and his Al-Khair Foundation recognise the instrumental impact the charity’s good practices have had in the sector with Its working ethos and conditions making it a sought-after employer.

The event was a celebration of the best talent in human resources development.

It was attended by more than 200 senior leaders from across the globe along with several top bureaucrats from a wide variety of countries.
