SINGER Danny Jones met up with a giant dinosaur – made of crumpets!

The McFly and McBusted star rubbed shoulders with the character at the Natural History Museum in London.

Danny, from Bromley Cross, was there to launch author and former band mate Tom Fletcher’s new children’s book The Christmasaurus.

The tale features mischievous elves who enjoy nothing more than a toasted crumpet at teatime. Bolton-based baker Warburtons created the giant crumpet dinosaur which is 2.5 metres tall and based on the fictional character.

The Christmasaurus is Tom’s latest children’s novel and is set on Christmas Eve. The story follows the adventures of a boy named William Trundle and the dinosaur.

Tom, who recently announced that a movie of The Christmasaurus is in the making, said: “We are still in the early development stages but it’s extremely exciting. It will be a movie musical so whoever is cast to be the voices will be singing in it.

“Music actually played a huge part in writing the book; it was a song I had written called The Christmasaurus that inspired the whole book.”

Sally Stanton, head of marketing at Warburtons, said: “The Christmasaurus really is such an entertaining read so is a natural fit for our family brand.

“After hearing that Tom Fletcher’s Elves loved crumpets just as much as we do, we figured it was a fantastic opportunity to join forces and create the Christmasaurus out of crumpets.”
