AMERICAN singer Rachael Sage was in fine voice when she met pupils at The Oaks primary school in Sharples.

The New Yorker, who has had 17 songs featured in the US reality show Dance Moms, performed a number of her songs and answered questions from pupils.

Questions ranged from "How did you get your songs on Dance Moms?" to "Can you do an English accent?".

Rachael, promoting new album Choreographic, was accompanied by violinist Kelly Halloran.

She was invited to the school thanks to 11-year-old pupil Maisie Cohen, whose journalist father Mike has featured Rachael many times in the Jewish Telegraph.

Maisie said: "It was the best school day ever."

The Year Six pupil revealed that Rachael had told her some secrets from the set of Dance Moms . . but she was keeping 'mom' as to what they were.

"Lots of children at my school love Dance Moms, so they were also really excited that she was singing for us," Maisie added.

"She also made up two songs with words suggested by us. They were really funny.

"Rachael told me that I'm now a booking agent as I had helped to get her to visit my school."

And Maisie was overjoyed that she was able to play on the piano the intro to Rachael's hit Happiness with her.

Rachael ended her visit to the school by signing CDs for the smiling youngsters.
