DETECTIVES are appealing for the public’s help after a man was found unconscious in Bolton town centre.
Shortly after 3am on November 20 a woman found the 20-year-old victim lying on the ground in Silverwell Street, near to the Post Office pub.
The ambulance service was called and although he regained consciousness he had suffered a serious head injury.
He has since been released from hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
Detectives are now trying to establish what happened to him.
Detective Constable Phil Unsworth, from Bolton CID, said: “We’ve been following enquiries and we believe this man may have been assaulted earlier that morning.
“Although he thankfully regained consciousness he sadly cannot remember anything about how he suffered his injuries but believes he may have been involved in a verbal altercation with someone else that night in a pub.
“We are currently reviewing CCTV and trying to piece together what happened but we need witnesses to come forward.
“If you were in the area around that time please call us. If you remember seeing an argument in a pub in the town centre, then I would also urge you to contact us.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101 quoting incident number 0383 of 20 November 2016 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
