A WOMAN had to be cut out of her car after a three car collision in Lostock yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Victoria Road and Chorley New Road at 2.45pm.

When they arrived they found that there had been a collision between a grey Vauxhall Vectra, a red Audi TT and a silver Land Rover.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire Service said crews were called to the scene at 3.40pm to assist with removing a woman from the Audi.

Two ambulances and a rapid response unit were sent to the scene.

A spokesman for the ambulance service confirmed there were three “walking wounded” and a female patient in her mid 20s who was taken to Salford Royal Hospital.

The road was closed while emergency services worked at the scene causing traffic to back up around the area.

Cllr Andy Morgan tweeted: “Bolton is gridlocked tonight. Chorley New Road blocked at Beaumont Road junction.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said that a road closure was put in place between Victoria Road and Stapleton Avenue.
