ONLY one person was involved in a crash that left a car wrecked and overturned, police have confirmed.
The blue Subaru Impreza overturned on Friday morning while travelling westbound along Chorley New Road and hitting a low stone wall at the side of the street.
North West Ambulance Service told The Bolton News at the time that two people were treated as patients, but police have now confirmed the driver, a 52-year-old man, was the sole occupant of the car.
He had to be cut out of the vehicle by firefighters and was rushed with major head and arm injuries to Salford Royal Hospital where it is understood he has since undergone surgery.
Police are investigating the smash, which left debris spread across the road and closed it for four hours.
