BOLTON Council is expected to name two more major companies which will be moving to the borough in the coming weeks.

Last week, council leader Cliff Morris revealed that German food giant Lidl will be launching at the Logistics North employment hub in Over Hulton after completing a £22.5 million deal.

It is anticipated that more announcements are on the way, including the identity of a mystery international firm which has already had plans approved to convert a development on the site with a view to creating 1,200 new jobs.

It is also understood that a third major employer will soon be revealing its ambition to move to Logistics North.

Cllr Morris has continued to express his joy at the Lidl announcement, he tweeted: “Delighted to reveal plans for the Lidl distribution centre, bringing 500 jobs to Bolton. Investment is impossible unless we work together.”
