A BOLTON MP will meet with the chair and chief executive of the Royal Bolton Hospital to discuss the ongoing issues and pressures facing the trust.

This week The Bolton News revealed that some patients at the hospital have faced a 12-hour wait to be seen as staff struggle with the ongoing winter pressures.

Now Bolton North East MP David Crausby has said he will meet with trust bosses to find out more and see what can be done.

He said: “Further details have emerged today about the problems facing our local A&E service. I am arranging to meet with the Chair and Chief Executive of the Royal Bolton later this month to discuss these issues in more detail.”

He added: “However, it is clear that this is not simply a local problem. Hospitals all over the country are struggling to cope. The Government are burying their head in the sand and hoping demand will somehow decrease when they should be taking action to end this crisis and ensure that it never happens again.”

The Red Cross recently announced there was a ‘humanitarian crisis’ taking place in the NHS.
