TRAFFIC is now flowing normally on a major Bolton road following an earlier crash involving two cars.
A blue BMW and a blue Volkswagen collided on the A666 Blackburn Road near Asda in Astley Bridge around 11.30am this morning, January 12.
An eyewitness said the BMW was travelling south along the road when it collided with the Volkswagen pulling out of Birley Street next to the Four Seasons café.
The BWM then crashed into a traffic light, which has been left leaning to one side.
An ambulance and two police cars attended the scene.
The eyewitness said that there didn’t appear to be any injuries to either driver.
The A666 Blackburn Road was closed southbound toward Bolton for more than an hour following the collision, causing long delays in the area.
The road has now reopened.
