AN elderly woman is fighting for her life after a serious collision in Over Hulton.
At around 2.30pm yesterday a silver Toyota Corolla was driving on Newbrook Road when it hit a pedestrian.
The driver – a man in his 30s – stopped at the scene.
A woman in her 70s was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and she currently remains in a life-threatening condition.
PC Dermot Murray, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The road was closed for several hours while investigators carried out enquiries and we are now asking the public for their help.
“If you saw something but didn’t stop at the time, or didn’t speak to police, then please get in touch.
“We need as much information as possible to build an accurate picture of what happened yesterday afternoon.
“This woman’s family are understandably extremely upset right now and specially trained officers continue to offer their support to them at this difficult time.”
