A THIEF has been given a suspended jail term — and now police to reunite the power washer he stole with its owner.
Terry Potter was caught with a torch on January 17, the same day he stole a jet washer worth £250.
The 33-year-old, of Park Road, Bolton, admitting going equipped for theft, and theft, at Bolton Magistrates' Court.
He was given 12 weeks imprisonment, suspended for a year, and must complete drug rehabilitation for six months and general rehabilitation for 10 days.
Potter must pay a victim surcharge of £115 and court costs of £85.
Police took to social media after his arrest on January 17 to try to trace the owner of the stolen goods.
They said: "In the early hours of this morning, two males were found in possession of a yellow Karcher K 5.700
jet washer on Greenmount Lane.
"We believe this item has been stolen from someone's house/shed/garage.
"These males have been arrested.
"However this item has not been reported as stolen."
