Masked men smashed their way into two houses during terrifying raids in Bolton.
The gang, armed with crowbars and wrenches, demanded the keys to high-powered sports cars in the incidents.
Police believe they had driven around the town before targeting vehicles parked out side the homes in Long Lane, Breightmet, and Durham Close, Little Lever, on Thursday The cars taken were a black VW Golf GTi and an Audi A4 Cabriolet.
Det Insp Alex Millett, of Bolton CID, said: "These men have clearly been on the look-out for cars of a particular type and have shown they were willing to threaten violence to take them."
