A man was stabbed in the head with such force in a town centre street attack that the knife bent under the pressure, a court heard.

Pathologist Charles Wilson told the jury at Manchester Crown Court that Rabid Amin's skull was chipped during the attack, which happened on November 19 last year, in Bradshawgate.

The prosecution has alleged that the six-inch kitchen knife was used by Jabar Ahmed to inflict 15 stab wounds on 25-year-old Mr Amin.

Ahmed, aged 19, of Campbell Street, Farnworth, has denied murder, possession of an offensive weapon and wounding with intent to cause grievious bodily harm to another man, Sajid Ahmed.

The case continues on Monday.
