VISITORS are invited to enjoy the monthly Food and Craft Fair in the Bromley Cross Village Hall on March 18.

This will be the penultimate event for the fair as it will be moving to a new venue in May as the the hall at Birtenshaw Methodist Church closes at the end of June.

The fair will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

There will be craft and food stalls, with traders selling everything from jewellery, health products, clocks, baby ware, cards, glassware and cakes.

Refreshments, snacks and light meals will be available.

There will also be a be a small exhibition including some of the original plans, ledgers and minute books, portraits and photographs — which organisers say will be added interest to an enjoyable day.

The decision to close Birtenshaw Methodist Church was made because of a decrease in congregation size, with 20 people attending an average Sunday worship.

According to the church, there were difficulties in filling the posts necessary for the church and adjacent building to function. And its village hall has hosted a number activities for village residents.
