YOUNG girls donned their best hats and boys wore their best shirts and ties to the christening of Mary-Rose at St Maxentius CE School.
Children at the Bradshaw primary school held a mock christening to bring religious education lessons to life. Year One pupils Annette Elmes and Dan Richardson, both aged six, were the parents, while the vicar was Liam Hulme, also aged 6.
Year One teacher Jill Oldham said: "In our religious education lessons we have been learning about the role of the church and the services held there. Staging something like this helps the children learn and retain what they have been taught. And they find it so much fun."
After the christening, children enjoyed a party.
