TWO young men braved floods to trek across the country to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Matthew Burns, a Manchester University student from Horwich, and Gareth Pattenden, who works at the Bank of New York in Manchester and is from Westhoughton, have completed a coast-to-coast trek across England.
The pair, both aged 22, started in Robin Hood's Bay on the North Sea coast on June 16 and finished their mammoth walk - which covered 192 miles - at St Bede's Head on the Irish Sea coast on June 28.
