THE UK's largest van hire group has increased its profits by more than a third after reaping the benefits of acquisitions.
Darlington-based Northgate boosted underlying pre-tax profits by 34 per cent to £79.3 million for the year to April 30, helped by a first full-year contribution from Arriva Vehicle Rental, which it bought in February last year, and the acquisition of Spanish hire company Record Rent a Car.
