A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed for seven months for stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods - including Prison Break DVDs.
Darren Yates, aged 35, of Bashall Street, Halliwell, stole the DVDs, worth £130, from HMV in Bolton town centre on June 20 and was arrested after being caught, but later bailed by police.
The drug addict went on to steal aftershave worth £47 from Boots in Mealhouse Lane on June 22 and cameras worth £21 from Netto in Higher Bridge Street on Monday.
During the theft from Netto, Yates threatened a security guard with a penknife but was detained by an off-duty police officer.
He pleaded guilty to affray, possession of an offensive weapon and three counts of theft at Bolton Magistrates' Court yesterday (Wednedsay).
Magistrates sentenced him to four months for affray and possession of an offensive weapon jointly and one month for each of the theft offences.
