DUSTY homes, noise and cracked walls were just some of the concerns raised by residents who claim their lives are being affected by the construction of Horwich Leisure Centre.
Around 30 people living in close proximity to the site of the £10million facility gathered at a meeting at Horwich Conservative Club to discuss the issues they’re facing as a result of the building work.
According to Brooklands resident Sue Baines, there have been occasions when workers have been on site late at night and at weekends.
She had been to meet officials from Bolton Council to air the concerns.
She said: “I put it to them that we weren’t happy. They know we want answers.
“We’ve had problems with parking in front of our house and accidents on Victoria Road, which is terrible at the best of time.
“People are getting dust in their homes and people on the estate have been complaining about coughs and colds.
“And we’ve got the noise and builders working late into the night and at the weekend.”
It was decided that a residents’ association would be set up in order to further highlight the issues.
