IBIZA comes to Bolton tomorrow for the celebration of the opening of a new bar.

Adrift will be launched onto the waves of the town’s nightlife and first through the doors are faces familiar to ITV2 viewers – the crew from Ibiza Weekender.

The Tiki bar, which was originally run as Akua, in Bradshawgate hopes to offer an exciting alternative for revellers.

Director Rick Stansfield said: “It was only open six months as Akua and it didn’t do well for whatever reason but when I heard it was available for rent I thought it was a fantastic opportunity.

“It’s a really nice venue with a good bar, it just needs people through the door.

“It can work if we bring good cocktails, a fun environment and offer something a bit different.

“Bolton really surprised me, there are so many people out on Friday and Saturday nights.”

Mr Stansfield has nine years experience in the bar industry and Adrift is his second venture, run alongside Voodoo in Accrington.

After taking over Akua, the bar continued to operate for one month but failed to attract the local support, so a revamp was initiated.

To help drum up interest in the newly rebranded 400-capacity bar, the owners have got a couple of famous faces on board for Easter.

Tomorrow revellers will be joined by David, Ellie and Hayley from ITV2 reality show Ibiza Weekender. DJ and rapper Ironik, who has a number of UK hits, takes to the decks on Saturday, followed by Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing on Sunday.

Mr Stansfield said: “As it’s a small bar people can come and enjoy a drink with the celebrities, they are there to have a good time and not be hidden away. We want to be somewhere to go for a nice drink.

“We just want people to come through the door to see what it’s like.”
