RIVINGTON and Blackrod High School head has stressed it is ‘politically impartial’ after a picture of the Bolton West Liberal Democrat candidate was taken outside the school sign.

The picture appeared as Rebecca Forrest hit out at the Tories over school funding and and announced her party would ensure a £36 million boost for schools in Bolton.

Writing on the school website, Paul Roach, CEO of Leverhulme Academy Trust which runs the school, stated: “This picture was taken without the knowledge or consent of either the school or trust.

“Rivington and Blackrod High School and Leverhulme Academy Trust is politically impartial and does not support the use of school or trust resources for any party political purposes.”
