A TRIO of dancers are on track for success after stepping on to the career ladder.
Molly Coker, Amy Brooks and Lucy Martin are all completing a Performing Arts BTEC at Bolton College.
They have secured part-time work with Total Dance Bolton Ltd, which promotes the benefits of dance in schools, and also hold classes and holiday clubs throughout the Bolton and surrounding areas.
Lucy, aged 17, said: "It’s great being able to pass on our knowledge of dance to the children.
"The classes are fun and the kids get so much out of them, I’m enjoying it too — it’s so rewarding to see them progress, some have a real talent."
The college students are described as passionate about dance.
As well as performing a carnival-inspired piece at the Mayor’s Ball in March, they have also danced on stage at the Market Place with fellow performing arts students.
Louise Crabtree, founder of Total Dance, said: "The children have really taken to Amy, Lucy and Molly. We teach a varied mix of dance, including ballet, tap, street dance and cheerleading, and each of the girls has helped to make the classes memorable, whatever the style."
Rachel Eden, who is curriculum leader of performing arts at Bolton College added: "Performing arts isn’t just about being on stage. In our classes students grow in confidence and also learn important life skills, which can be used both in and out of the classroom. I am delighted, but not surprised, that Molly, Amy, and Lucy are making such a success of their roles."
