CELEBRITY Danny Jones proved a huge hit when he helped launch The Voice Kids on TV.
The ITV show got off to a good start in the ratings, launching to an audience of 4.2 million viewers.
McFly star Danny, from Bromley Cross, was joined on the judging panel by Will.i.am and singer Pixie Lott.
The first episode of the junior version of the talent contest peaked at 4.6 million when it aired on Saturday night.
The opening instalment featured a 12-year-old girl influenced by James Brown and Janis Joplin, a rendition of a Disney classic from The Little Mermaid and a tiny rapper.
It won rave reviews from viewers and a 24 per cent share of viewing to become the second highest rating programme of the day on any channel.
It was only behind the World Cup Qualifier Live between Scotland and England, which had an average audience of 4.7 million viewers and a 32 per cent share across the coverage.
