A MAN has been charged after a family, including two young children, had to be rescued from a flat fire.
Christopher Hellam, aged 26, of Water Street, Atherton, has been charged with malicious communications.
This comes after the man, woman and two youngsters had to be saved from a fire in Milton Street, Atherton, via an upstairs window when they became trapped by the blaze on Thursday, June 1.
Hellam will appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
A 26-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with the blaze has been released under investigation.
