A MAN on his way home this morning decided to take a shortcut and ended up impaling his leg on a fence.
A fire crew, was called at about 5am and had to cut away part of the fence in order to free him and let the ambulance service help him.
Crew manager Andy Bolton, said: "A bloke coming home from a night out tried to get over a fence and managed to impale himself via his leg on it.
"We cut a section away, just left it in his leg so they could operate."
